Leadership Academy

Our leadership course encapsulates a core curriculum to develop Tomorrow’s Leaders, geared towards female athletes. Through TEAM (Together Educating Athletes through Mentorship), we are offering middle school and high school female student-athletes a chance to learn life-skills applicable to the ever-changing atmosphere we live in today. 

Over the past seven years, TEAM has prided itself on focusing on more than just lacrosse; through the mentorship component of our program we have helped young women both on and off the field and in their personal lives. Given families’ positive feedback, we have recently expanded on this aspect of our program to reach not only lacrosse players, but young female athletes of all sports throughout our community.  In essence, we want to help kids understand the positive effects of empathy, compassion, and relate-ability and couple those with leadership and empowerment exercises. 

The curriculum will allow student-athletes to call upon their past experiences to share instances where positive choices could have been made, and in turn give them the knowledge bank to pull from in the future where they may find themselves in a tough situation. Each meeting focuses on a specific topic, while the year-long course offers a theme of community participation. 

Being athletes ourselves, every one of our Coaches and Facilitators here at TEAM can attest to the fact that Athletics changed our outlook on life, built amazing friendships, and left positive (and negative) impacts based on coaches we had. Through it all, Athletics made us strong individuals, teammates, and the community leaders we are today.
